Walter Rybeck
Director, Center for Public Dialog, which does research and consulting in land economics and public finance with special attention to their impact on social problems - poverty, unemployment, urban sprawl, deteriorating infrastructure and lack of decent housing in liveable neighborhoods.
Assistant Director, National Commission on Urban Problems, under chairman Paul H. Douglas, renowned economist/senator (1967-69). Rybeck conducted nationwide hearings, edited research studies, co-authored final report, Building the American City.
Editorial Director, Urban Institute (1969-78), Washington, DC think tank. Rybeck instituted its publications program, edited the bulk of its research, and wrote its periodic newsletter, ³Search² to inform officials, academics and others of the Institute¹s findings and recommendations on public policy issues.
